Why do STP tanks need a different waterproofing system?
Sewage and wastewater can attack concrete and ordinary coatings. STP tank linings are selected for the actual chemical exposure and permanent immersion, not just for water-tightness.
Can STP tank waterproofing be done while the plant is running?
The tank being treated has to be taken out of service, drained, cleaned and ventilated, because most linings need a clean, dry surface. Work is planned with the operator so the plant can keep running on other tanks where possible.
